Take care of your heart in the heat with Organique Acai Premium Blend by Aster P.
April 26, 2022 6:11 p.m.
The warmer temperatures and bright sunshine are no surprise, especially now that it’s summer! As we do our day-to-day routine, and indulge in the fun of summer on weekends, especially with the relaxed pandemic restrictions, we shouldn’t forget to keep an eye on our health. After all, it’s no fun spending the summer season sick!
One of the most common health conditions in the summer is heat stroke.
When we’re not hydrated enough or spend too much time in the sun, our body temperature can rise beyond safe levels (beyond 40 degrees celsius).
This can cause us to experience headaches, dizziness, nausea, fatigue, and even blurred vision.
When the body tries to stave off the extra heat, the heart has to work extra hard.
This is why people with heart problems such as angina or coronary heart disease should watch out for heat stroke.
Harvard Health states that it can be difficult for the heart to reroute your blood flow and help keep your body at the right temperature if your heart is damaged (either from a heart attack or cardiomyopathy) or if your arteries are clogged with cholesterol.
Coupled with the fast heart rate, or tachycardia, that you can experience during a heat stroke, the heart becomes over-stressed.
These can then increase the severity of both your heat stroke and heart disease symptoms.
Dr Sonny Viloria advises that a healthy lifestyle is key to preventing heart problems that can worsen your other health conditions.
If you’re healthy, your body is more able to handle stress that comes from heat or other temperature conditions—you just need to stay hydrated and make sure to not overexert yourself, especially when it’s hot.
But to make sure you stay healthy and fit in the long run, you shouldn’t forget to pay attention to your health and wellness in all aspects.
On the physical side, you can try to make adjustments to your diet, such as eating more fruits, vegetables, and fish, instead of processed foods that can increase the bad cholesterol in your body.
Regular walking or exercise can also help improve your blood flow, which will definitely help your heart.
Relaxation activities such as meditation or even just taking time off for your hobbies can also keep stress away! Just be mindful not to indulge in cigarette smoking and drinking since these can increase your risk for heart and other health problems.
To cap it off, taking food supplements such as Organique Acai Premium Blend can also help strengthen your immune system.
With its mix of antioxidants such as anthocyanin, vitamin C, and vitamin B, you can help improve your overall health in an all-natural way!
It is safe for all ages to take and is your partner in staying healthy all days of the year. Just take one shot glass before breakfast!

The story on how EJ Obiena vaulted over controversy
6:57 a.m. January 17, 2025
The Philippines’ top pole vaulter and Olympian EJ Obiena faced a challenging moment when he became the subject of a controversial accusation last October, 2023.
However, the 29-year-old athlete demonstrated grace under pressure, addressing the claims with professionalism and composure. His dignified response not only refuted the allegations, but also earned widespread praise. Ultimately, the accuser issued a public apology, acknowledging the false nature of the claims against him.
Behind the scenes, Obiena’s coach and mentor, James Michael “Jim” Lafferty, played a vital role in guiding the athlete through the ordeal.
Lafferty, a seasoned executive coach and motivational speaker, provided strategic PR and crisis management support to help Obiena navigate the situation effectively. Known for his dedication to nurturing athletic talent, Lafferty has also mentored other Filipino Olympians, including long jumper Marestella Torres-Sunang.
“Whilst I have long stated that EJ Obiena is a world-class athlete, yet an even better human being, he, like all celebrities, has been unfairly embroiled in various controversies,” Lafferty recalled.
He highlighted Obiena’s remarkable ability to overcome challenges, including handling multiple crises over the years.
Despite these hurdles, Obiena rose to become the world’s No. 2 pole vaulter, Asia’s top pole vaulter, a member of the six-meter club, and now a two-time Olympian.
Recognizing a broader need for expert crisis management among businesses and public figures, Lafferty, who also serves as the Chairman of Katapult, one of the country’s leading end-to-end marketing solutions providers, took action.
“Sensing the need to better serve EJ and other clients, Katapult has established a new PR and Crisis Management division as of January 1,” Lafferty said.
Lafferty is collaborating with Media Head Anika Basa and Data Analytics Head David Rosario to ensure the seamless integration of services.
The launch of this division underscores Katapult’s commitment to help clients navigate challenges, while safeguarding their reputations and achieving sustainable growth.
Lafferty’s leadership experience spans over three decades, during which he has held CEO roles at multinational companies such as Procter & Gamble, Coca-Cola, British American Tobacco, and Fine Hygienic Holding. His proven track record of driving success across industries makes him exceptionally qualified to lead Katapult’s PR and Crisis Management division.
CEO Francis Uy highlighted Katapult’s comprehensive approach: “Katapult was born as a digital-first company with a sniper-shotgun strategy—combining precision targeting of specific consumer personas with broad-reaching campaigns that maximize impact. PAL Interclub’s return to Bacolod celebrates triumph of human spirit
4:22 p.m. January 10, 2025
When the Philippine Airlines (PAL) Interclub returns to Bacolod next month, the triumph of the human spirit will be at the back of most players’ minds as the last time the event was held there, action at Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club and Bacolod Golf and Country Club was one of the last events held before COVID-19 ground all of sports in the world to a halt within the next few days.
Less than a week after Manila Southwoods and Canlubang won the Men’s Regular and Seniors divisions titles, respectively, that lockdowns were ordered worldwide because of the pandemic that would drag for more than two years.
And from Feb. 7 to 21, the courses formerly known as Marapara and Binitin will again be the venues for the event’s 76th playing where Southwoods shoots for a fourth straight crown and Del Monte a repeat of the upset it posted on home turf last year in Cagayan de Oro and Bukidnon.
“Bacolod has been the site of many memorable Interclub championships and we are sure of having the same keen competition this year,” PAL president Stanley K. Ng said. “As we return to the City of Smiles, let’s also celebrate the triumph of the human spirit through the sport we love as we wish every team the best out there next month.”
Known as the country’s unofficial team golf championship, the Interclub was forced to take a two-year leave because of the pandemic and resumed in 2023 in Cebu where Southwoods again ruled regular play and Luisita dislodged Canlubang.
Seniors action gets going first on Feb. 10, with the men starting their 72-hole championship eight days later.
Competition in the 55-and-over division is deemed to be a wide-open race this year with some of the talents that have beefed up Cangolf and Luisita either begging off or playing for other squads.
Canlubang and Luisita have combined to win a total of 29 titles, with the Sugar Barons holding an 11-5 edge since 2006 after snapping the Luisitans’ six-year reign that started in 2006.
In 24 years, only Del Monte was able to break that dual stranglehold of Senior play, and the Bukidnon-based bets will come to Bacolod with basically the same lineup that posted that upset last year.
